Community Manager/Editor

Job Description and Responsibilities

We are looking for a bright young person to join our community management team and help with managing and developing our communities.

You will have at least two years Community management or business editorial experience. Your skills will include: writing and editing business content, managing online Community websites (using DreamWeaver), dealing with senior decision makers in large organisations, and analysing customer activities.

To succeed, you will need to have an interest in, and knowledge of, corporate eBusiness, Marketing, Strategy or Enterprise initiatives and new media technology in general. Based in Central London you will join a small but ambitious team focused on creating business communities that deliver measurable economic value.

Ideally you will have worked in a business editorial role, both generating content and managing contributions from third parties. Alternatively, you will have been involved in running a community with a ‘large corporate’ Membership base.

The role involves:

  • Developing the content available on our secure Community portal
  • Collecting, writing and editing copy for Community newswires
  • Generating structured outputs (findings from member discussions online and offline)
  • Managing freelance contributors of content for our Communities
  • Regular communication with the member, including meeting corporate members to discuss potential business initiatives for the Community
  • Drafting agendas for offline and online events
  • Encouraging member participation in the community

You must have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the self-confidence to engage community members at senior management level. You must also be flexible and adaptable.
