NetGroup’s new community newsletter

This is the first issue of our revised community newsletter, Digibiz News. The changes we have made are both to the format, making our community news easier to read, and the content. Digibiz News will provide an insider’s view of the digital business issues and activities of our member companies. To achieve this we need your participation, so if there are interesting developments within your company which you’d like to share within the NetGroup community, please let us know ([email protected]).

To reassure you on confidentiality, Digibiz News is distributed in two versions (a NetGroup corporate members version and a friends of NetGroup version). The corporate members version is distributed only to paid members of the NetGroup community, all of whom have met strict criteria for membership. Any information that is confidential to the community will only appear in the member’s version.

Portals workshop delivers results
On September 18th, we held an Enterprise Portal workshop, to deal with some of the key business and cultural issues associated with a Portal investment. With a mix of member companies represented, both in terms of industry focus and current status with their portal project, we were able to analyse, compare and contrast ideas and experience for the benefit of all involved.

Member feedback – 100% of delegates said they’d learn something new during the workshop

Delegate comment "Well led and good interaction from all attendees" (Invesco)

The analysis from the workshop is now available – please email us at [email protected] if you would like to receive this (MEMBERS ONLY)

Effectively Managing Your Customer Relationship – What’s the impact of the Data Protection?

Are you clear on the Data Protection Act, what rights your customers have and how you must adhere to these when dealing with customer information? With the proliferation of customer touch points (e.g. the Web; call centres; sales representatives) and the integration of operations across geographic borders, this is of particular concern to NetGroup member companies. Please join us for what is sure to be a stimulating and informative afternoon!

How To Turn Your Strategy into Action?

Creating the right business strategy presents a major challenge for any company. But the critical success factor for a strategy is not in the definition but in how effectively that strategy is communicated and executed.

To do this successfully means putting in place the right mechanisms, processes and governance structures that will enable effective change.

BAT is a global company celebrating 100 years of operations. It currently faces a major strategic challenge to move from being a federation to an enterprise. This is an opportunity to hear how BAT is tackling these important issues, and to share the experiences from your company, all in the carefully controlled, closed setting of a NetGroup community event.

If you have responsibility for strategic development within your company and have developed mechanisms, processes and governance structures to support this, please come and join our roundtable discussion.
