The corporate HR function is changing fast, with a combined focus on providing high-value, organisational development services to support the nurturing of talent, together with increased employee self service to manage lower level HR requirements.

Employees are being provided with a range of tools to carry out self-service tasks such as tracking & submitting expenses, booking travel, requesting time-off for holidays and information on company benefits such as pension schemes and company cars.

The minimum expectations in providing these tools are to reduce low-level human intervention from an HR department, thereby lowering costs. However, the potential extends beyond cost cutting, providing opportunities to improve employee productivity, collaboration and customer service.
