Accessibility has been and remains a priority issue this year, with member companies bidding to ensure that their websites are accessible for disabled users.

However with the multitude of guidelines and regulations available, deciding what standards you need to implement and how far you need to go to ensure compliance with the disability access regulations can be confusing.

Following Knexus Community’s successful collaborative session on Accessibility in June 2004, members have requested that we reconvene to reassess what standards should be include on websites and to gauge what other member companies have done.

Knexus Community has invited three leading experts to share their knowledge and insights with our members in the first half of the session. All three speakers will provide real-life corporate case studies, demonstrating how companies are addressing accessibility.

Speakers include:
* RNIB (Royal National Institute of the Blind)
* Digital Media Access Group
* User Vision

After a Q&A; with the experts, they will be asked to leave the room and participating members will have the opportunity to engage in a roundtable discussion on Accessibility. In a secure environment, members will share experience and ideas, plus harness the collective wisdom of the member companies to identify solutions to key highlighted issues, including how members move to the ‘Double AA’ Accessibility standard.

Website accessibility is not a one off project but an ongoing maintenance that requires constant monitoring, evaluation, policing and review. If you are involved in the management, design or development of websites and/or in accessibility related issues, this is a collaborative session you cannot afford to miss.
